Platypus

Platypus is a duck billed semi-aquatic organism found in Australia. It is one of the only 2 egg laying mammal apart from Echidna. It is known for its reclusive nature and highly specific habitat requirements i.e. near small streams and cool slow moving rivers. The Taronga Conservation Society Australia and the New South Wales government recently announced the plans to establish the world’s first platypus sanctuary consisting of ponds and burrows at a zoo near Sydney by 2022.
