Phugadi

Phugadi is a folk dance of Goa that is performed during festivals like the Shigmotsav and during social events. It is performed by women in a circular or row format. The dance form is accompanied by phugadi or fugdi songs but does not use any musical accompaniment. The dance commences with an invocation to Gods. It is slow paced at the beginning but gradually picks up pace towards the climax.
