Pakistan to confer honorary citizenship to Darren Sammy

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that the government would confer honorary citizenship on former West Indian captain Darren Sammy. He will also be presented with Pakistan’s civilian award, Nishan-e-Haider.

Darren Sammy has been associated with the Pakistan Super League-PSL since its inception and he is presently leading Peshawar Zalmi. In 2017 he agreed to come to Lahore for the PSL final after several foreign players declined to arrive in, due to security concerns.
