Pakistan confers Nisan-i-Imtiaz on Saadat Hasan Manto

Pakistan Govt conferred its highest civilian honor Nisan-i-Imtiaz on famous Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto.

Manto is popular for his Urdu short stories, especially those that explored the impact of the partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan in 1947.

Some of his famous short stories include Toba Tek Singh, Bu (Odour), Khol Do (Open It) and Thanda Gosht (Cold Meat).

 

Pakistan earlier conferred Sitara-i-Imtiaz on Gopi Chand Narang

Pakistan government conferred Sitara-i-Imtiaz honor on Urdu author, Gopi Chand Narang . The honor is the third highest civilian honor given by the nation. Nishan-i-Imtiaz is the highest civil honor of Pakistan which it had bestowed on former Prime Minister Morarji Desai and matinee idol Dilip Kumar in the past.

Gopi Chand Narang was born in Dukki, Pakistan. He is an Indian scholar of Urdu language and literature, an prominent Urdu writer, scholar, critic and linguist. He is author of many books in Urdu, Hindi and English.
