Outreach Drive to Address Concerns about CAA begins today
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be conducting 30 rallies across the country to address the concerns raised by the opposition parties over the conflation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) with the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the NPR- National Population Register.
The first rally in the series of 30 starts today, 3rd January 2020 from Jodhpur, Rajasthan and will be addressed by the Union Home Minister of India, Amit Shah. The BJP party leadership has also asked its state-level units for conducting door-to-door campaigns in their respective states to make the citizens of the country aware that the CAA does not have any impact on the Indian citizens. Addressing the same issue, the BJP working president, JP Nadda will also be addressing a rally in Goa today.
According to media reports, a toll-free number will be launched by the Union Home Minister for people to register their support for the CAA.
