Operation Smile

Operation Smile is an initiative of the ministry of home affairs for missing children. Under this scheme, the police personnel trace and rescue missing children. This month long operation was carried out in 2014. A similar exercise, Operation Muksaan, was carried out in 2015 throughout the country. Through this exercise carried out between 2015 and 2019, over 70,000 children have been traced and rescued. Recently, NHRC called for the revival of the scheme.
