Operation Satark
Operation Satark is an operation of the Delhi Police to make public places safer and prevent and combat crime especially during festival season, through increased police visibility and extensive patrols.
Highlights
Senior officials, such as deputy police commissioners, additional deputy police commissioners, police officers, and other subordinate personnel, including female police officers, will patrol on foot. The purpose of the patrols is to provide full control of routine public disturbance creators and build trust among the public.
Officials will hold public interactions and impromptu meetings with various stakeholders to get local feedback and first-hand feedback on current law and order in the area. They will also interact with vulnerable sectors of society, such as the elderly, women and children, to make them feel more secure.
Under this operation it is important to conduct a door-to-door survey in areas where accommodation is available on a rental basis and any disturbing element can go unnoticed for a long period of time.
