Operation Panopticon

Operation Panopticon is the title given to a recent hacker attack on a Silicon Valley startup that enabled the hacking collective, Advanced Persistent Threat 69420, to access the live feed from 1,50,000 surveillance cameras placed inside prisons, police departments, hospitals, schools and companies. This US hacker collective is also called the Arson Cats. The breach has highlighted the risks in outsourcing surveillance for security purposes to companies via the internet cloud.
