NPCDCS program
The NPCDCS program or National Program for Prevention & Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke is a program for prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and was launched in 2010. Funding for the program is in the ratio of 60:40 (centre: states) and 90:10 (in case of north-eastern states and hilly region states). Some of the key focus areas of the NPCDCS are early diagnosis using outreach camps, use of behavioural change for health promotion, management using NCD clinics, etc.
