NITI NCAER States Economic Forum Portal

The NITI NCAER States Economic Forum portal is set to be launched on 1 April 2025 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This initiative, a collaboration between NITI Aayog and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), aims to provide a comprehensive repository of data on social, economic, and fiscal parameters spanning over three decades. The portal is designed to enhance understanding and analysis of state finances in India.

Components of the Portal

The portal comprises four main components:

  1. The State Reports offer summaries of the macro and fiscal landscapes of 28 state of Indias. These reports are structured around key indicators such as demography and economic structure
  2. The Data Repository provides direct access to a complete database categorised into five verticals – Demography, Economic Structure, Fiscal, Health, and Education.
  3. The State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard presents graphical representations of key economic variables over time. It allows users to access raw data and summary tables easily.
  4. The Research and Commentary section draws from extensive research on state finances and fiscal policy management.

The portal aims to facilitate a better understanding of macro, fiscal, demographic, and socio-economic trends in India. By consolidating sectoral data into one accessible platform, it addresses the ongoing need for comprehensive information.
