NIIT to be a part of NEAT programme
The NIIT (National institute of Information Technology), a multi-national company has been selected as one of the EdTech companies for the NEAT initiative. The NIIT will work with AICTE to implement the vision of Ministry of HRD (Human and Resource Development) on NEAT.
Highlights
In order to make the NEAT initiative successful, the Ministry of HRD along with NIIT will institute 5 awards of Rs 50,000 for faculties and 10 awards of Rs 10,000 for students.
NIIT was established in 1991. It is a non-profit university of higher education and research.
NEAT
The National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) was launched to customize learning process using Artificial Intelligence. The Union Government believes that the AI methodologies can be used to address diversity in learners. (Diversity in learners is recognizing that everyone is unique in their own way)
The initiative through PPP model aims at creating EdTech Companies. These identified EdTech companies will create National Alliance with the emerging technologies.
Features of NEAT
NEAT will create a common one-stop access to technological solutions. The solutions will be developed by the EdTech companies. The institutes developing solutions are free to charge the companies according their policy. The NEAT programme is being implemented by AICTTE.
