NHAI to collaborate with premier Technical Institutes
The National Highways Authority of India has approached NITs, IITs and other reputed Engineering colleges to stretch National Highways. The institutes have been approached under their Institutional Social Responsibility.

The main of the collaboration is to leverage the knowledge of students and faculty towards improvement of road infrastructure.
Benefits
When an institute adopts a NH stretch, it will help to mitigate routine local problems such as traffic movement, identification of accident-prone sites and congestion. Hence, the highway thus constructed will help in commuter friendly and enjoyable ride in the National Highways.
How can the institutes help the projects?
The institutes have better appreciation towards local topography, requirement and resource potential. The vital inputs from the institutes for the projects can be utilised during different stages of construction, pre-construction and operation of NH-stretches.
MoUs
The NHAI and the institutes are to sign Memorandum of Understanding to implement the projects.
