Vitul Kumar Appointed as New Director General of CRPF

The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Vitul Kumar as the acting Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). This decision follows the retirement of Anish Dayal Singh. Vitul Kumar was born on August 3, 1968, in Bhatinda, Punjab. He is a 1993 batch officer from Uttar Pradesh. Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. His educational background supports his analytical skills in law enforcement.

Career Progression

Kumar has held various positions within the CRPF. He became the Deputy Inspector General in 2009. He advanced to Inspector General in 2012 and then to Additional Director General in 2018. Recently, he was appointed as the Special Director General of the CRPF. His career trajectory showcases his leadership capabilities.

Kumar has received several prestigious awards throughout his career. He was awarded the President’s Police Medal in 2021. He also received the Police Medal in 2009.
