5th National EMRS Cultural & Literary Fest and Kala Utsav 2024

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) is set to organize the 5th National EMRS Cultural & Literary Fest and Kala Utsav from 12th to 15th November 2024. This important event will take place at Shiksha ‘O’ Anusandhan in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It is hosted by the Odisha Model Tribal Educational Society (OMTES). The event coincides with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, adding historical significance.

Event Theme and Significance

The theme for this year’s fest is “A Tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda & Tribal Freedom Fighters.” This theme celebrates the contributions of tribal leaders and aligns with the anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The cultural fest will highlight the importance of tribal heritage and its role in India’s history.

Participation and Representation

More than 2,000 tribal students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across India will participate. They will represent the rich cultural diversity of India’s tribal communities. This event provides a platform for showcasing their talents and encouraging unity among participants.

The fest will feature 35 distinct events, including Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Dance, Theatre, and Visual Arts. These events will allow students to demonstrate their artistic skills on a national stage. Winners will have the opportunity to compete at the National Level Kala Utsav in Bhopal against 38 other teams.
