He achieved this feat by throwing javelin at a record distance of 86.48m at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland and won gold in the event. His effort of 86.48m brought India’s first World record and the country’s first-ever gold in any World athletics championships in any category.
