Nayab Singh Saini Takes Oath as Haryana CM

Nayab Singh Saini has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time. This confirms that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue to lead the state for a third straight term. The ceremony took place at Panchkula’s Parade Ground and was attended by important political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This event highlights the BJP’s strong position as they prepare for upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

Background on Nayab Singh Saini

Nayab Singh Saini was born in 1970 and has been active in politics for nearly thirty years. Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inspired him to enter politics. In 2014, he was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Naraingarh. He became a member of the state Cabinet in 2016 and won the Lok Sabha seat from Kurukshetra in 2019.

Election Victory

In the recent assembly elections held on October 5, 2024, the BJP had a fantastic success, winning 48 out of 90 seats. The Congress party came in second with 37 seats, while other regional parties struggled, leading to a significant loss for the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).

Swearing-In Ceremony

The oath of office was given to Saini by Haryana’s Governor, Bandaru Dattatreya. Along with Saini, many other BJP leaders also took their oaths, strengthening the party’s position in the state.

Key Highlights of BJP’s Performance

The BJP showed strong support in Scheduled Caste (SC) areas, winning eight out of the 17 SC seats. They achieved notable victories against well-known Congress members, such as Udai Bhan in Hodal.

After taking his oath, Saini thanked the voters and promised to focus on good governance, equality, and helping the underprivileged. He aims to ensure continuous development during his term.
