National Instructional Media Institute inaugurated at Chennai
About National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI):
- It is an Indo-German project established in 1986 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Labour in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft Fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH acting as the executing agency on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- Started functioning from 1st April 1999, as an Autonomous Society.
What are the functions of NIMI?
- Enhance the overall productivity of the teaching/learning process through the introduction of appropriate and validated instructional media under the Craftsmen and Apprenticeship Training Schemes.
- To develop instructional materials known as Instructional Media Packages in the form of complete training packages for training craftsmen and apprentices in the mechanical and electrical group of trades.
