National Hydrogen Mission

National Hydrogen Mission announced during the recent Union Budget is an overall plan for using hydrogen as an energy source. Its objective is to merge India’s renewable energy capacity with the hydrogen economy. Hydrogen is deemed to be the direct replacement of fossil fuels. It  will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fuel imports. The next few months would involve drafting of the plan to utilise this potential.
