National Girl Child Day
National Girl Child Day is observed on 24th January each year to boost awareness about gender inequality and gender stereotyping. It is the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development started in 2008.This year, the 11th anniversary of this occasion is celebrated, with the focus on creating awareness about the Child Sex Ratio decline. The anniversary of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme is also falls on this day.
