National Film Awards 2019
National Film Awards 2019 awards were announced by Rahul Rawail, head of Jury for feature films. The year 2019 marks 66th edition of National Film awards. Usually recipients of annual National Film Awards are announced in month of April and presentation takes place on May 3 every year but it was delayed this time owing to the 17th Lok Sabha polls.
National film awards are given in 31 categories. 419 films competed for 2019 award. In this year’s award a new category called Award for Most Film Friendly State was instituted which was won by Uttarakhand.
