NAQUIM

NAQUIM or National Aquifer Mapping and Management program is a program for mapping aquifers, which are water bearing formations, and their characterization to help develop Aquifer Mapping Plans. This plan will help in sustainable management of groundwater sources. The program was started in 2012 and is a part of ‘Ground Water Management and Regulation’ scheme- a central sector scheme launched by Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. It is implemented by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB).
