Mr. Harish Rawat sworn-in as new CM of Uttrakhand
The senior congress leader, Mr. Harish Rawat sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He was administered the oath by the Governor Aziz Qureshi at Raj Bhawan. He succeeded Vijay Bahuguna.
Mr. Bahuguna resigned from the post of CM due to the criticism for the way he had handled the flood situation and relief and rescue work.
In the 70-member assembly, the Congress, which has 33 MLAs, is supported by the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) which comprises three BSP MLAs, three independents, and one Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) MLA
