Mouma-Manika Pair made History by becoming First Indian Pair to reach Quaterfinals in World TT Championships

India’s Manika Batra and Mouma Das has created history by becoming the first Indian pair to reach the quarterfinals of the World Table Tennis Championships. The event is held in Dusseldorf. The last edition of the event was held in Suzhou in 2015. The next world TT championships will be held in Budapest in the year 2019.
The duo will now take on the No. 1 and 2 Chinese players, Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen in an upcoming match.
The World Table Tennis Championships are being held since 1926. The event is being organized biennially since 1957. Five individual events comprising men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s double and mixed doubles are currently held as a part of the championships.
