MoU signed for setting up Project Management Unit between GeM and Uttar Pradesh Government

For setting up of GeM Organizational Transformation Team (GOTT) Project Management Unit (PMU) in Uttar Pradesh, the State Government of Uttar Pradesh has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

By signing this Memorandum of Understanding, the Government of Uttar Pradesh becomes the second state after Punjab to establish a GeM Organizational Transformation Team- Project Management Unit to push a well-organized and transparent procurement system.

GOTT will enhance the competencies to derive maximum benefit from the online marketplace and will assist the buyer agencies to redesign the procurement processes.

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) unit of the state can transact on GeM in a more well-organized and easy manner under the Project Management Unit (PMU). The Union Ministry of Finance has advised departments of central and state governments and ministries to consider services of GOTT on an outcome-based self- sustenance model.
