The Health Ministry has also stated that it has delivered 22533 ‘Make in India’ ventilators to various states, UTs and central institutions in the country. Since March 11, the government has been doing this and has provided all these materials completely free of cost. The central government has also ensured the installation and commissioning of the same in all the states. The Union Government has been providing medical supplies as well free of cost to the States and UTs to supplement their efforts.

Who made all the Efforts?

Most of the products supplied by the government were not being manufactured within the country in the beginning. However, rising global demand made it difficult for India to source these things from the foreign market. That is why, with the combined efforts of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Pharmaceuticals, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, DRDO, etc. the domestic industry has been encouraged to produce all these things such as PPE kits, NP5 masks, ventilators, etc.
