Moore’s Law
Moore’s Law is an observation in the field of computer science that the number of transistors in an integrated circuit or the density of the transistors on the microchip increases two-fold every 2 years. It was given by Gordon Moore, the Intel co-founder, in 1965. This is because the transistors’ size was being progressively decreased till they reached the nanometer scale- when further shrinking became unviable. Hence the focus is now more on improving chip efficiency and reducing power consumption. Recently, IIT scientists made a breakthrough in increasing the life of electronic gadgets.
