IT Ministry launches Smart-board for effective monitoring of key programmes
Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) have launched an Automated Real Time Performance Smart-board for effective monitoring and measurement of key programmes of government. The key programmes include Digital India, Aadhaar, Digital Payments among others.
The dashboard was launched by Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad, while celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. During the Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary celebrations,
Minister Prasad also unveiled ‘Digital Charkha’, an art installation at IT Ministry. The Digital Charkha is an amalgamation of traditional design with a digital spin with the wheel of Charkha being made up of interlinked digital grids in place of fine threads thus portraying that core of Digital India is embedded in Gandhian philosophy of equality, unity, corruption free and empowerment of ordinary citizens.
About Smart-board
It will act as a single window access for Centre, State as well as for District specific projects implemented by MeitY.
It will provide real-time, dynamic analytical project monitoring for critical and high priority Programme undertaken by MeitY. Thus this automated real-time performance smart-board will promote transparency and enhance ease of working.
It will also enhance analysis through data integration by using APIs (Application programming interface) or (web services) by consolidating multiple data sources into single centralized, easy-to-access platform.
Need: The government is implementing different welfare programmes or schemes at various levels for citizens’ benefit and thus the effective monitoring and measurement of outcome and impact of such programmes or schemes is imperative at different levels through identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
