State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur has appointed B S Gopalakrishna as Director on the board of the bank w.e.f. September 20, 2009. Prior to this appointment, Gopalakrishna was working as Deputy General Manager (A&S;), State Bank of India.
September 26, 2009: P. Kannan elected to Rajya Sabha from Lone Pondicherry Seat
P Kannan has been elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from the lone seat in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
September 24, 2009: Akshay, Katrina appointed brand ambassadors of National Games
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have been appointed as brand ambassadors of the 34th National Games 2009 which are scheduled to start from Nov 21 in Jharkhand.
Note: Dates Extended Many times.
Jharkhand was awarded the 34th National Games in 2002. First, they were expected to be held in 2007 but couldn’t take place due to lack of proper infrastructure. They were then rescheduled for December 2008, then shifted to February 2009 and again to June 2009 — but each time they were postponed due to incomplete infrastructure.
September 23, 2009: Gundappa Viswanath appointed Assam cricket consultant
Former India captain Gundappa Viswanath would assist the Assam Ranji Trophy side as a consultant for the coming 2009-10 season.
Note: Gundappa Viswanath is also the chairman of Karnataka Cricket Association & was recently conferred the Lifetime Award by BCCI.

Umesh Sinha,IAS will be the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh replacing Anuj Kumar Bihsnoi, who has joined as director of Bureau of Serious Fraud Investigation at the Centre on deputation.
September 10, 2009: RB Singhal is new assistant solicitor general
Indian government has appointed Shri. RB Singhal as assistant solicitor general of India for conducting the cases in the Allahabad High
Court filed against the Central government. He will also conduct the cases filed against the public officers, while in the service of the Central government.
September 10, 2009: Jaswant appointed member of LS Committee on Budget
Jaswant Singh has been appointed as one of the three members of the Committee on Scrutiny of Budget Estimates of the Lok Sabha. Other members of the Committee are Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda and Chairman of Estimates Committee Francisco Sardinha.
