Microsoft unveils "Surface" Tablets
Microsoft launched a family of tablets named Surface, built on Windows 8 to compete with Apple’s iPad
The touch-screen tablet is company’s 1st major venture into computer hardware
It is designed to function as a PC with attachable keyboard cover and as a Television watching platform
The Surface will be available in two versions, a base or basic version, named simply "Surface" that will run the Windows RT operating system and use an ARM CPU. A second version, named "Surface Pro" will run the Windows 8 Pro operating system and use an Intel CPU.
