Mexico asks Spain to apologise for 500 year old conquest
The Mexican president has asked Spain an the Vaticans to apologise for the invasion that happened 500 years ago. However, Spain rejected the request but exteneded its willingness to currently work more closely with the Mexicans. The President made the statement at the anniversay of the conquest of Tenochtitlan, capital of Aztec empire after which around 2 million Spaniards settled there. After the conquest it was under the Spanish rule for over 300 years.
