Mega exhibition on Nation Building and CPSEs

On June 9, 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Mega exhibition- on Nation Building and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

Highlights

  • The exhibition was inaugurated at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar Gujarat.
  • This event is being organised as a part of ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
  • During the visit, Finance Minister was informed of several key initiatives of CPSEs and their contributions in nation-building.

Four Day Exhibition

The Mega exhibition on Nation Building and CPSEs is a four-day exhibition. During the event, CPSEs will showcase their contribution in development of country for achieving Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Around 75 CPSEs are taking part in the exhibition. Some CPSEs like NTPC and BEL will inaugurate activity related to conversion of their townships at Bengaluru & Solapur as mini smart cities. These townships will be part of 27 townships, that will be converted into mini smart cities. Exhibition will remain open from June 10 to June 12, 2022, for public.

What are and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)?

CPSEs are companies in which Central Government or other CPSEs holds 51% or more stake.

About Mahatma Mandir

Mahatma Mandir is a convention and exhibition centre. It is located at sector 13 C in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The exhibition centre is inspired from life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. It is among the biggest convention centre of India, spreading across an area of 34 acres. It was developed by the Government of Gujarat. It was constructed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Limited in two phases, in an environment friendly manner.
