Mega Blood Donation Camps at AIIMS, Delhi inaugurated
The Union Health Minister has inaugurated a Mega Blood Donation Camp dedicated to the Corona Warriors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The Minister also felicitated the family members of the corona warriors who lost their lives during the fight against the deadly COVID 19 pandemic.
What happened at the Camp?
The Union Minister presented certificates to the blood donors at the camp. He also stated that the Corona Warriors have fought very bravely against the pandemic and they will also win very soon. There has been no such day in the previous month when the recovery rate has not been better than the previous day and the fatality rate is not less than the previous day.
About AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences is an autonomous institution set up under an Act of Parliament. AIIMS Act 1956 provides for the establishment of the institute as the institute of national importance. The main objective of the organization has been to develop a pattern of teaching and also to bring together the best faculties in medical education at one place.
National Blood Transfusion Council
Founded in 1996, it is the apex body for all the matters related to the operation of blood centres in the country. It works under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It coordinates with the State Blood Transfusion Councils and also the other Ministries and health programs for various activities related to Blood Transfusion services.
