Maui dolphin

Maui dolphin is one of the rarest and smallest dolphin subspecies in the world. It is found only off the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island. According to current estimations, there are only 63 of these dolphins older than one year. Thus, there is a high possibility of Maui dolphins going extinct. In this backdrop, the New Zealand government announced its support to a project that uses drones to understand and protect these dolphins.
