Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy

The Madhya Pradesh Start-up Policy was launched by PM Modi during the Madhya Pradesh Start-up Conclave that was being held in Indore on the 14th of May 2022. The launch was done by the PM via video conference.

The Madhya Pradesh Start-up portal was also launched by the PM. This portal will help facilitate and promote the start-up ecosystem of the state. During the launch, the PM also interacted with the start-up entrepreneurs.

What is the aim of Madhya Pradesh’s Start-up Policy and Implementation Plan – 2022?

The government of Madhya Pradesh has launched this with the aim of promoting start-ups in the state and encouraging the state’s budding entrepreneurs. This policy has been developed with the objective of strengthening and bringing the entrepreneurial ideas of the state’s youth to reality. A slew of events across the state has been planned by the state government to generate awareness about this new start-up policy.

How many start-ups are running in Madhya Pradesh?

In the state, there are 1,937 start-ups that have been recognized by the government and out of these 45 per cent are being run by women.

What is the Start-up centre?

In the new start-up policy, there is a concept of “MP Start-up Centre.” This centre will have a dedicated office, a mentor as well as experts for every start-up, who will be helping the start-up community of the state to grow.

Who were the participants of the Madhya Pradesh Start-up Conclave?

At this event, government policymakers, mentors, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, academicians, and various other stakeholders took part. A Start-up Expo was also displayed at the conclave that displayed new innovations and trends.

What events were organized at the Start-up Conclave?

In this conclave, various events were organized such as a speed mentoring session where the start-ups had a dialogue with the leaders of various educational institutions as well as those from the start-up environment. There were events on how to start a start-up where start-ups were guided by various policymakers. There were funding sessions where the entrepreneurs learnt about various funding methods. Pitching sessions were also conducted where the start-ups pitched their ideas to the investors. An ecosystem support session was conducted where the participants learnt about brand value and the promotion of start-ups.
