Madhya Pradesh: Going to be the first state to offer jobs, based on CET conducted by NRA

Madhya Pradesh is going to be the first state in India to offer government jobs on the basis of score secured in the Common eligibility test (CET) which will be conducted by the proposed National Recruitment Agency.

  • The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan made this announcement, a day after the Union cabinet gave its green light for setting up of the National Recruitment Agency to conduct CET.
  • Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced its intention to reserve the seat of all state government jobs for the people of the state.

What is the National Recruitment Agency?

Union Cabinet approved setting up of the National Recruitment Agency which is going to be a multi-agency, autonomous body to conduct a Common eligibility test to fulfill the vacancies of non-gazetted officer posts of Group B and C for Railways, banks, and SSC.

What is the common Eligibility Test?

The NRA will be responsible for conducting a recruitment exam known as the common eligibility test (CET) for graduate level, higher secondary level, and the matriculate level candidates.

Features:

  • The score secured by a candidate in the CET will be valid for three years but one can reappear multiple times in the examinations to upgrade his position and scores.
  • CET will be the first tier of recruitment examinations. The other tiers will be conducted by the concerned recruitment agencies.
