LS passes Appropriation Bill, 2012

The Lok Sabha passed the Appropriation Bill, 2012. It authorizes payment and appropriation of certain sums from the CFI (Consolidated Fund of India) for services in the financial year 2012-13. 
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee introduced the Appropriation Bill, 2012, which was passed by the House after negating all the Cut Motions moved by the Opposition.

Earlier, Speaker Meira Kumar guillotined the outstanding Demands for Grants in the General Budget.

What is ‘Guillotine’ in a Budget Session?

In a Budget Session, when the Speaker puts down all the outstanding demands to vote, this is known as Guillotine. And we thus say that the Speaker guillotined the outstanding Demands for Grants in the General Budget.
