Longitudinal Aging Study in India
Longitudinal Aging Study in India or LASI is a nationwide survey conducted to understand the health, economic and social implications of aging in India. The recently released report revealed that at least 5% of the elderly (aging 60 years and above) in India faced ill-treatment in 2020. Elderly women and elderly rural population are the worst hit victims of this menace. Abuse of the elderly is high in Bihar, Karnataka, West Bengal, UP, Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh.
