Kedarnath Dham Development Work Reviewed by PM Modi
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has taken stock of the development project work going on at Kedarnath Dham in order to make it more tourist-friendly and also to increase the divinity of the Dham. The ongoing project will also focus on renovation work at Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal to ensure cleanliness and inclusive development. Another objective of the project is that the tourists will be provided with more facilities along the Gaurikund-Kedarnath route. Technology will be utilized to showcase the significance of the pilgrimage to the tourists.
This scheme is part of the various initiatives undertaken by the Union Government to improve the tourist experience in the iconic sites of the country. The government is also keen on utilizing the cultural capital of the country to promote tourism. In this regard, various schemes launched by the Ministry of Tourism are:
- Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)
- Integrated Development of Tourist Circuits around Specific Themes (SWADESH-DARSHAN)
- Adopt a Heritage Project
- Development of Iconic Tourist Sites
