Kargil to Kohima Ultra Marathon-‘Glory Run’

The Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria felicitated a team of 25 Air Warriors at the New Delhi Air Force Station on Monday, 16th December 2019 to mark a unique achievement by running expedition from Kargil to Kohima- named as K2K Ultra Marathon-Glory Run, which started on 21st September to mark the 20th yaer of Kargil Victory from the Kargil War Memorial, Drass, Ladakh.
The challenging task of carrying the’ Glory Torch’ through 4500 Kms, averaging 100 Kms on the road per day for a continous period of 45 days was undertaken by the Air Warriors, by passing through plains, mountains, populated cities and wilderness the Air Warriors expedition culminated on November 6, 2019, at the capital city of Nagaland, Kohima.
The Air Warriors also break the mental barriers of Gender and Age during the expedition and spread awareness on the Fit India Movement and Pedestrian Safety.
