Joginder War Memorial inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh
On October 23, 2020, an Indian Army war memorial called the Joginder War Memorial was inaugurated at Bum La, Arunachal Pradesh. It was inaugurated by the Joginder Singh’s daughter.
Joginder singh
He was awarded Param Vir Chakra posthumously. He joined the British Indian army in 1936. He served the first battalion of Sikh regiment. During the 1962 Sino Indian War, he was a commanding officer. He led his outnumbered Troops against the Chinese and defended his post till he was wounded and captured. He died in Chinese custody. He was honoured with the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery of handling 50 Chinese men alone.

In 1980, fifteen crude oil tankers were named after Joginder Singh. A statue of the brave officer was built in Moga, Punjab
What is the border issue in Arunachal Pradesh?
China claims 90000 square kilometres of land area in Arunachal Pradesh to be its own territory. The region was initially called North East Frontier agency. In 1962, during the Indo Sino war the People Liberation Army of China occupied the regions of Arunachal Pradesh. However later it withdrew respecting the Mcmahon Line. It was proposed in 1893. This line is taken as the correct International border by China.
McMahon Line
The McMahon line runs from the limit of Bhutan to Talu pass. This line is considered as illegal by China. Talu pass is located at the tri junction of India, Tibet and Myanmar.

The Indian states sharing China border are Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Also, the union territory Ladakh shares the international boundary with China.
