J&K’s Special Assistance Scheme for COVID Mortalities

Jammu and Kashmir has recently unveiled the Special Assistance Scheme for COVID Mortalities (SASCM) to the families of COVID victims. The Administrative Council, headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved a grant under this scheme recently.

Also known as Saksham, this scheme seeks to provide financial aid to those families whose sole earner has succumbed to the COVID-19 infection. It will provide pension and scholarship aid to such families. The monthly pension of Rs.1,000 will be provided to the victim’s spouse and one eldest surviving member. The scholarship will be provided to children who lost their parents/siblings/guardians to COVID-19.
