January 24, 2013: India observes ''National Girl Child Day''
India celebrated ”National Girl Child Day” on January 24 with the objective of raising consciousness of the society towards the girl child so that she can be valued and respected.
Various activities were organized by Ministry of Women and Child Development to address and reverse the trend of declining child sex ratio in the country.
