International Summit on Women in STEM organized in New Delhi
On 23rd and 24th January 2020, the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science & Technology organized an International Summit on Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) – `Visualizing the Future: New Skylines’ at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi with an objective to boost the participation of women for the development of scientific career in STEM field.
The summit provided a good platform for researchers and young students to develop ideas and to interact and network with leaders to generate a future action plan for making a career in STEM fields.
The 2-day international summit held various sessions including networking, career opportunities and interactive exercises with scientists aiming to empower women and showcased real-world examples of successful women scientists, doctors and engineers in STEM filed and ideas and renowned women scientists from different countries who pursue their career in the STEM field addressed the participants and motivated them to pursue their scientific career.
Across the globe, around 350 participants from different STEM fields participated in the event including scientists, socialists, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and teachers.
