International India Medical Tourism Congress begins in New Delhi
International India Medical Tourism Congress began in Delhi. It aims to promote country’s medical tourism by creating awareness about it and create international network opportunities.
The medical tourism congress was inaugurated by Tourism Secretary Dr Lalit K Panwar and it will be a two-day event.
In this congress more than 200 delegates from India, Africa, Iran, Dubai, Turkey and Jordan will participate.
Medical Tourism in India
In case of medical tourism, foreign citizens prefer India for treatment because of the availability of cheap medical facilities and higher technological system in the country. In few cases these patients are not satisfied by the allopathic treatment, so they opt for India’s Ayurvedic treatment and at the same time enjoy the hospitality of the people here.
Thus, medical tourism attracts people, brings in money and improves medical standards.
But there is urgent need to revamp this untapped sector as at present there is absence of a common platform, poor marketing strategies and absence of public private partnership which create hindrances in the growth of medical tourism sector in India.
