International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is being promoted by the United Nations and is observed annually on 3rd December, since 1992. The Day is observed to promote understanding of disability issues, for the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of social, economic, cultural and political life.

 

The theme for 2019 IDPD: Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda.

The theme focuses on the empowerment of persons with disabilities, pledge to ‘leave no one behind’ the 2030 agenda for sustainable development recognizes disability as interdependent in the implementation of 17 sustainable development goals.
