India’s Share in the World Exports

India’s share in world merchandise exports has started rising since 2007 albeit by a very slow 0.1 percentage point so as to reach 1.3 per cent in 2009 and 1.4 per cent in 2010 (January-June). This was mainly due to the relatively slow rise or greater fall in world export growth than India’s. The following table shows India’s share in World Exports vis-a-vis some other select countries.
