India’s Second Largest Mobile Hub to Come in Tirupati

India’s three domestically bred mobile handset makers viz. Micromax, Karbonn and Celkon have signed up agreements with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up their units in an industrial park coming up near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. These three companies will invest Rs. 750 Crore there. Prior to this, Taiwan based Foxconn, the world’s largest contract mobile handset maker, had also decided to set up a manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.

We note here that Andhra Pradesh has been aggressively wooing the foreign and domestic investments in recent times. World Bank ranks Andhra Pradesh as the second best place for doing business in India after Gujarat.
