India’s first leather park

India’s first leather park is to be set up by the state government of Uttar Pradesh in Kanpur district. It is expected to provide direct employment to 50,000 individuals and indirect employment to more than 1,50,000 people. This project is estimated to attract more than Rs.5,850 crores. The park is to have effluent treatment plant with capacity of 20 million litres per day. This is to minimise pollution of River Ganga.
