India’s First Constitution Museum Opens Soon
India will inaugurate its first Constitution Museum in Sonipat, Haryana, which will be attended by prominent leaders, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The museum will be located at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) and aims to tell the significance of the Constitution of India.
Museum Features
The museum will feature interactive displays and advanced technology. Visitors will experience AI-driven installations and 3D exhibits. It will showcase the Constitution’s history over 75 years. Each section of the Constitution will be represented. Various formats will be used, including text, audio-visuals, and experiential exhibits.
The museum will highlight profiles of the Constituent Assembly members. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be prominently featured. He is recognized as the principal architect of the Constitution. The aim is to honor the contributions of these key figures.
S.A.M.V.I.D. Project
The museum is part of the S.A.M.V.I.D. project, which is a collaboration between JGU and IIT Madras. It seeks to make learning engaging and interactive. The project focuses on innovative storytelling techniques.
Artistic Representations
Artworks will play role in the museum. Sculptures like “We, The People of India” will be displayed. “Echoes of Liberty” by Rahul Gautam will also feature prominently. These pieces reflect constitutional values such as liberty, equality, and justice.
The museum aims to make the Constitution more accessible. Curator Anjchita B. Nair emphasises innovative storytelling. The goal is to spark curiosity and respect for the Constitution. The inauguration will coincide with Constitution Day on November 26. A dedication ceremony will include a lecture by Gopalkrishna Gandhi.
