Indian Police Foundation (IPF) Survey on citizens perception

Indian Police Foundation (IPF) conducted a survey on citizens perception. In the survey, Delhi Police has been ranked at seventh spot, among Indian states and union territories (UT).

Key Findings

President and CEO of IPF, N Ramachandran, notes that they received responses from 1,61,192 people in India.
Delhi Police was ranked for their sensitivity towards public, good behaviour, accessibility, accountability and strict conduct.
Delhi police was ranked at fifth position in technology adoption and at 10th spot for smart policing.
States like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Nagaland, scored least on the Smart Policing List.
Bihar has been ranked last with respect to responsible policing, public trust in police and integrity & corruption free service.

What this survey is all about?

The survey was conducted by IPF to assess citizens’ perceptions and gauge impact of smart policing initiative by Prime Minister Modi, which was announced in 2014 at a conference in Guwahati.
